MT. VERNON, IL — The 9th Annual Mt. Vernon Fall Fest will be held the last weekend in September and this year’s theme will honor those that have made an impact on the community during the challenges of 2020. #618Strong was recently decided upon by the Mt. Vernon Festivals Inc. and will encompass the entire southern Illinois community with an invite to come together at Fall Fest.
Marketing Executive with Mt. Vernon Convention & Visitors Bureau, Grace Payne says everyone has been impacted by COVID-19 in some way and Fall Fest will be an escape from the struggles this year as well as a way to celebrate all we’ve overcome.
Significant changes will be made to Fall Fest this year to ensure the safety and health of all attendees. Not every component of the festival will be able to return, however, Payne says the Board and Committee are working hard to make certain that as many Fall Fest favorites as possible will be available.
