MT. VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Rams’ baseball coach will be adding basketball coach to his duties this winter.

Tim Holloway was approved to be the next Mt. Vernon Rams basketball coach at a special meeting Wednesday afternoon.

Holloway served as an assistant coach under retiring coach Doug Creel from 1999 to 2006, and has been the head baseball coach at MVTHS since 2005, accumulating a win-loss record of 334-193 in that time. Under his leadership, the baseball program has won nine South Seven conference championships, seven regionals, a sectional, a super-sectional, and finished fourth in Class 3A in the state in 2013.

Holloway replaces Creel, who won 325 games over 18 seasons and two stints as Rams head basketball coach.
