MT. VERNON, IL — Due to COVID-19 safety restrictions, both the May and June Market Days at Veteran’s Park in Mt. Vernon were cancelled. The Market Days season will begin on Saturday, July 11th from 8am-2pm at Veteran’s Park. Several new guidelines will be set in place to ensure the safety of vendors and customers.

Indoor vendors will not be permitted for the month of July. Outdoor vendors will be spaced 12 feet apart along the walking path. All workers and volunteers will be wearing masks. Vendors are asked to be extra diligent in sanitizing their products after they have been touched and between customers or handling money. Market Days shopping bags will be eliminated this season to decrease contact. Sanitation stations with hand sanitizer will be set up in at least three different areas. Porta Potties will be available in the Market Area and sanitized frequently. A golf cart will only be used to take vendors to and from their vehicles. It will not be available to shuttle the public to and from the market area. Surfaces will be sanitized between riders.

Posters with guidelines will be posted at the event including the recommendation of face masks and maintaining a 6-foot distance between people. Other precautions may be added or modified as the event nears.
