MT. VERNON, IL — Mt. Vernon Township High School announced Thursday that it will conduct its 115th annual commencement exercises on Saturday, June 6th, in a drive-through format. The ceremony will be live streamed on wmix94.com/graduation.

MVTHS Principal Rowdy Fatheree says he held a zoom video conference with some of the seniors to get their take on the whole situation and find out if they had any special requests for the ceremony.

Detailed instructions have been mailed to graduates. Also, a video outlining the graduation process can be found posted on the school’s website and Facebook page.

Fatheree says considering the coronavirus situation is ever-changing, he hopes that if there are any changes made to the ceremony, it’ll be changes back to a more normal celebration.

Spectators who wish to view the ceremony may park in the athletic complex north lot starting at 4pm when the gates open. The gates will close promptly at 6pm.

Not only will the ceremony be live streamed at wmix94.com/graduation, you can listen to commentary on 94.1FM that evening too.
