SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — Farmers are getting help amid the COVID-19 outbreak thanks to the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program passed by lawmakers in Washington.

The program is providing financial assistance to agricultural producers whose commodities have suffered a five percent or greater price decline, or who had losses due to market supply chain disruptions because of the novel coronavirus.

Saline-Gallatin County Farm Bureau Manager Marisa Davis talks about how farmers can request help if needed.

The deadline for farmers to apply is August 28th.
