SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — Lawmakers are headed back to Springfield this week for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down life as we knew it a few months ago. One local lawmaker says more voices need to be involved in the re-opening process of the state.

59th district State Senator Dale Fowler says he would like for there to be dialogue between the governor and the people to find the best way for everyone in Illinois to get through the pandemic.

Fowler says his goals this week include revisions to the Restore Illinois plan, getting a responsible budget in place, and trying to plan for the future as there are still many unknowns because of the coronavirus outbreak.
