SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – The Southern Illinois Strong campaign organized by State Reps. Terry Bryant, Nathan Reitz, Dave Severin, Patrick Windhorst, and State Senators Dale Fowler and Paul Shimpf in conjunction with the Southern Illinois Community Foundation (SICF), are announcing small businesses receiving a grant of $1,500 dollars.

Three weeks ago, the Southern Illinois legislative delegation partnered with SICF to start a fundraising campaign to sell t-shirts, solicit donations and obtain sponsorships in order to provide small grants to businesses throughout the region who are struggling under Coronavirus related economic restrictions. The team is proud to reveal the following small businesses will be receiving their grants this week:

The Apple Tree Gift Shop, Murphysboro

The Waffle Company, Mt. Vernon

Wildlife Materials, Murphysboro

Hakuna Matata Kid Care, Inc., Steeleville

Kruz Kennel Service Inc., Waterloo

Main Street T’s, DuQuoin

Mann’s Sporting Goods, Pinckneyville

Drakes Jewelry LLC, Benton

Extreme Exigency LLC, Benton

Tino’s on the Tee, Whittington

Grant recipients were eligible applicants that were chosen at random via a lottery system performed by staff at the Southern Illinois Community Foundation.
