CARRIER MILLS — The Illinois Municipal League is notifying communities that they can expect up to a 30 percent loss in revenue from state-shared revenues this year because of COVID-19.

While Carrier Mills mayor Louis Shaw says he doesn’t expect their percent of revenue lost to be that high, every dollar the community loses has a huge impact on residents.

Shaw says the city is cutting its budget by 11 percent for the coming year to help off-set the anticipated losses from the economic downturn caused by the pandemic.
