INA, IL — The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has moved higher learning to an online environment this semester, but that has not stopped students from trying to achieve academic success. The Rend Lake College Foundation will conduct RLC Giving Week today through May 8th to help support the Student Emergency Fund and create additional scholarships for students. The #TogetherAsWarriors campaign creates new scholarships to assist returning students who might not be able to continue because they’ve been impacted by COVID-19, unemployment or other strenuous circumstances.
Kay Zibby-Damron is the CEO of The RLC Foundation. She says these gifts could fulfill critical needs for students.
RLC Giving Week also coincides with Giving Tuesday on May 5th which typically occurs in November and is a global generosity movement. Giving Tuesday is being held in May this year as an emergency response to the needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
