Cheryl L. Bond

Cheryl Lynn (Byars) Bond, 52, of Walnut Hill, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020, at St. Louis University Hospital, in St. Louis.

She was born October 13, 1967, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Don and Jane Byars, and the late Beverly Byars.  On November 17, 1990, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, she married Matt Bond, and he survives.

Mrs. Bond was employed almost fourteen years at Kaskaskia Workshop in Centralia.  She loved watching her son play baseball, spending time with her family and friends, spoiling her much loved pets, and assisting clients, coworkers, friends, or anyone else in need of a sewing repair or crafty idea.  She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, Matt Bond of Walnut Hill, she is survived by one son, Lane M. Bond of Walnut Hill and significant other Kalyn Crider of Woodlawn;  her father, Don Byars and wife Jane of Mt. Vernon;  four siblings, Karen Roth of Aviston, John Burge and wife Leann of Mt. Vernon, Chris Burge and wife Sheila of Mt. Vernon, and Crystal Hefner and husband Jeff of Harrisburg;  father-in-law, Harry Bond of Mt. Vernon;  two sisters-in-law, Darla Bond of Metropolis, and Carla Snow and husband Chuck of Mt. Vernon;  one brother-in-law, Les Bond of Jackson, Missouri;  and cherished aunts and uncles, in addition to her nieces and nephews and many cousins that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Byars; her grandparents; and her mother-in-law, Darlene Bond.

A private funeral service will be held for Mrs. Bond, with burial at Panther Fork Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Relay for Life, and can be mailed to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
