Paul D. Penrod, 67, of Mt. Vernon, passed away April 22, 2020, at Odin Health Care Center, in Odin.

He was born July 6, 1952, in Anna, Illinois, the son of Ernie and Roxie (Lingle) Penrod.  He married Paula Ellis, and she survives in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Penrod worked for Coldwell Banker Real Estate, and attended Zion United Methodist Church.  He was a member of the Bluford Ruritan Club.

In addition to his wife, Paula Penrod of Mt. Vernon, he is survived by two step-children, Stacie Chambliss and husband Jack of Mt. Vernon, and Shawn Poole and wife Shana of Opdyke;  four grandchildren, Raquel Minor, Dakota Minor, Kaleb Poole, and Ed Poole;  a mother-in-law, Wilma Ellis;  and one half-sister, Christy Barnhart of Granite City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one nephew.
