ELDORADO — Grocery stores big and small across the country are having trouble keeping up with the demand for some products through the COVID-19 pandemic. Mom-and-pop stores are especially feeling the pressure during these times.
Dan Doughty is the owner and president of Big John’s in Eldorado. He says sales are way up during these times, but his suppliers are still struggling to get caught up to the demand for certain products.
Doughty says he is also struggling to find some cleaning products such as rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer. He says he is concerned about the meat supply with recent plant closures nationwide, but so far his store’s meat stock has been strong through the virus outbreak.
