Southern, IL — Southern Illinois state legislators are teaming up to endorse and promote a new “Southern Illinois Strong” t-shirt fundraising drive. Funds raised from t-shirt sales will provide grants for small businesses impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.

State Representative Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) says businesses will be chosen to receive money based on a lottery.

Byrant says the grants will be issued separately in each participating legislator’s district.

State Representative Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) says this campaign is just another example of southern Illinoisans coming together to support each other.

For more information on the campaign, visit SouthernIllinoisStrong.com or visit their Facebook page. The deadline to apply for a grant is May 4th. However, the shirts will be available to order until Wednesday, May 6.
