SPRINGFIELD – Governor JB Pritzker is showing mounting frustration at some of the responses to following stay at home orders and guidelines for social distancing. The city of Chicago had to shut down the lake front and two major walking and biking trails to keep people from congregating.
There are now people confirmed with COVID-19 who attended those gatherings.
The state reported more than 1000 new cases on Monday along with 33 additional deaths. That brings the total number of overall cases in Illinois to 12,262 and the death toll to 307.
Locally, there have been 3 confirmed cases in Jefferson County. 2 county residents and a male truck driver from Texas.
Elsewhere, 15 cases have been confirmed in Clinton County, while Jackson County has seen 16 cases and one death. 6 cases have been reported by the Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department. The number remains at 3 cases in Marion County. There are 3 in Fayette County and 2 in Washington County. And, The Egyptian Health Department was notified of a Gallatin County resident who was the first case in the county to test positive for Coronavirus. And finally Saline County has had their 2nd county resident test positive for the virus.
