Calvin Parker Pierce, 95, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2020, at his home.
He was born October 29, 1924, in Bluford, the son of John Parker and Nellie (Donoho) Pierce. On May 4, 1951, in Marlow, he married Marina Bond, and she survives.
Mr. Pierce was a farmer, and retired from Precision National. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II.
In addition to his wife, Marina Pierce, he is survived by two sons, Calvin Dewayne Pierce and wife Donna of Mt. Vernon, and Jeffrey Pierce and wife Rhonda of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Colin Pierce and wife Kayla of Troy, Missouri, and Jacob, Josh, and Jarron Morris of Mt. Vernon; one great-grandson, Colton Pierce of Troy, Missouri; and one sister, Wilma Campbell of Mt. Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Carlyn; one brother, Wilbert Pierce; and one sister, Ghnell Pickett.
A private family service will be held, with burial at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.
