SPRINGFIELD – The state reported 715 new coronavirus cases in Illinois Thursday. It was also announced that 16 more people died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
IDPH Director and Dr. Ngozi Ezike says while the state hasn’t yet seen the hundreds of deaths a day like New York City. The number of deaths is going to rise over coming days.
Illinois now has 157 deaths and 7,695 total cases in 61 of the 102 counties.
