(WITHERS BROADCASTING) — President Donald Trump announced Sunday that he would extend nationwide social distancing guidelines through the end of April amid growing COVID-19 confirmed cases and deaths across the United States.The original guidelines were set to expire this week.
In Illinois, there were almost 4,600 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Sunday afternoon. 65 people in the state have died. In southern Illinois, there are 3 confirmed cases in Jackson County, 2 in Franklin County, and one each in Jefferson, Williamson, Washington, and Saline County.
The CDC reports over 122,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases across the U.S. as of Sunday, with more than 2,100 deaths. As of last Sunday, there were only about 33,000 confirmed cases across the country.
