SPRINGFIELD, IL (RFD) — For weeks now the Governor and Director of Public Health have held daily briefings on the spread of COVID-19 around Illinois.
Dr. Ngozi Ezike has given daily updates on the numbers of infected, accounted for, and when needed, the number of people who have died from the virus. That number has been on the rise in Illinois and yesterday when asked how she is feeling and holding up, the response was an emotional one.
Today (Thursday) Governor Pritzker and Dr. Ezike announced 673 new cases in Illinois, bringing the total number of cases to 2,538. The death toll, due to COVID-19, also rose to 26 with 7 more deaths happening overnight.
37 counties in the state of Illinois have reported cases of COVID-19.
