CARBONDALE, IL — In response to the economic impact of COVID-19, the City of Carbondale is making an effort to ease the financial burden on local business owners by extending the due dates for collection of the Motor Fuel, Hotel/Motel, Food and Beverage, and Package Liquor Taxes.

The city will allow businesses a 30-day extension and waive any associated late fees.

Municipal Motor Fuel Taxes and Municipal Hotel/Motel Taxes are now due April 30. Food and Beverage Taxes and Package Liquor Taxes are due May 20.

In addition, city leaders will reevaluate the due dates as they approach and monitor the need for another extension during these unprecedented circumstances.
