MARION COUNTY — A 25-year-old Centralia man charged with 10 felonies stemming from a January raid on his Perrine Street residence appeared in Marion County court Wednesday in federal custody.

Montia Ewing is facing two Class X felonies in Marion County– one for the intent to deliver between 100 and 400 grams of cocaine and one for the delivery of between 15 and 100 grams of fentanyl. If convicted a Class X felony is punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

Ewing is also charged in state court with Class 1 felony possession of between 100 and 400 grams of cocaine, Class 2 felony delivery of narcotics, four Class 3 felonies for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance.

Ewing was arrested in January after Centralia police served a search warrant on his residence at 404 South Perrine in Centralia.

He remained in Marion County custody with bail set at $750,000 until being taken into federal custody on a two-count federal indictment charging him with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm in the furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.

Ewing’s federal charges stem from his January arrest when CPD officers, their high-risk team, and the high-risk team from three ILEAS regions executed the warrant.

Their search reportedly revealed a high-powered rifle, an altered 12 gauge shotgun, a fully loaded drum magazine, 26.4 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 169 Grams of cocaine, 13 ecstasy pills as well as approximately $10,500.00 in cash.

Police reports indicate Ewing was also running an illegal food service business out of the basement of his residence in violation of city ordinances and zoning laws.

Ewing is next due in federal court April 21 and a counsel only hearing is set for May 27 in Marion County Court.
