SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — Spring temperatures have arrived somewhat early across southern Illinois, but with the temperatures comes a chance for some early season severe weather on Thursday.

Meteorologist Rachel Trevino with the National Weather Service in Paducah says stay weather-aware and take any warning for your area seriously.

Trevino says the prime time for possible strong storms is in the afternoon and evening. She says the main threats from these storms will be heavy rain, high winds, some hail and a possible tornado.
