MARION COUNTY — Bail was set at $25,000 Thursday in Marion County Court for a 20-year-old Salem man arrested by Salem police on multiple charges.

Christopher Lambert was initially arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail after Salem police had responded to a report at his home of domestic battery.

He was not at home when officers arrived but was later located on North Trenary and reportedly fled into a home.

Officers followed Lambert into the home where he reportedly struggled with officers before being handcuffed and taken to the Marion County Jail.

Upon arrival at the jail, Lambert allegedly kicked one correctional officer and bit another.

He was formally charged in court later with Class 2 felony aggravated battery to a peace officer, misdemeanor resisting, and misdemeanor domestic battery.

He was not charged in connection with a set of brass knuckles reportedly found in his possession at the time of his arrest.
