JEFFERSON COUNTY — Earlier this week, ISBE announced that Bluford and Woodlawn schools will be eligible for property tax relief grants, grant money that will allow these districts to cut their property tax rate and replace that funding with state money. Now, school leaders in each district are reacting to the news.

Woodlawn Superintendent Eric Helbig says the state is providing district taxpayers a break.

Bluford Superintendent Shane Gordon says the property tax relief grant is just another way school funding reform is benefitting the district.

Each district is waiting to receive more details on how much they will receive, and in turn how much property taxpayers will save on their upcoming bills.
