CENTRALIA, IL — The Centralia City Council will consider a proposed resolution during Monday night’s regular meeting that a man fighting for the Mayor’s seat says will put former City Manager Dan Ramey back in City Hall.

Bryan Kuder, who continues to fight in court for the seat he won in the last election, says Tri-County Corporate Services will likely be granted a contract Monday as a consulting firm for the City of Centralia.

A meeting agenda confirms the council will be voting on the approval of an agreement with Tri-County Corporation and Services Inc.

The state shows that the company is registered to Dan Ramey and that the corporation’s name was changed on January 21, 2020, from Tri-County Construction to Tri-County Corporation and Services.

According to a social media posting by Kuder, such a contract with Ramey’s company would result in the now-retired Ramey receiving not only a city-paid pension but also another income at taxpayer expense.

Kuder continues to fight in court to be seated as Centralia Mayor. He received the largest number of votes in the last election but the Centralia City Council decided to vacate that election saying Kuder isn’t eligible to serve and instead appoint Herb Williams as acting-mayor.

A judge last month took Kuder’s case under advisement, saying she will rule on the matter at a later date. A new court date has not been announced at this time.
