MARION COUNTY — A Sunday morning chase with Marion County Sheriff’s deputies landed a 57-year-old Centralia woman in the county jail.

Deputies attempted to stop Gay Walker after she was reportedly seen driving 89 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone in front of Raccoon Grade School on Route 161.

Gay failed to stop for the deputy and instead pulled onto northbound Interstate 57 where she allegedly threw a number of items from her vehicle’s window.

After continuing another few miles, Walker stopped and was taken into control.

Deputies reportedly discovered controlled substances in the items Walker threw from the vehicle during the high-speed pursuit.

In 2016, Walker was sentenced to prison after she pleaded guilty in Marion County Court to driving while license revoked from a DUI more than four times.
