CENTRALIA — An 18-year-old Centralia man is in the Marion County Jail after Centralia police arrested him on charges of armed robbery and mob action.

Centralia police arrested Blake Smith in connection with a December incident at Raccoon Lake in which Smith and two 17-year-old juvenile males allegedly took a gold chain and cash from an 18-year-old male runaway from Chicago.

The three suspects allegedly beat the victim and left him at the lake. Someone driving in the area reportedly found the teen and called police.

Reports indicate the victim was lured to the lake before being beaten and robbed. The two 17-year-old suspects had earlier been questioned and released but will now likely be charged for their alleged roles.
