IFB President Says Farmers Need Trade

Trade has been in the news quite a bit over the past week. The US and China inked phase one of a trade deal that reportedly will increase Ag sales to China and the US Senate passed the USCMA trade agreement.

Rich Guebert, President of the Illinois Farm Bureau says that farmers depend on export markets to access the over whelming majority of the worlds consumers.

A better trading relationship with the Chinese is expected to result in increased exports of soybeans, pork and chicken among other products and the USMCA should support better US exports to Canada of wheat and dairy products.
