JEFFERSON COUNTY — Scholarship applications are now available for students looking to pursue higher education next school year for the Illinois Sheriff’s Association scholarships.

Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard will be awarding one $500 scholarship to a graduating senior in the county. He says residents need to help the next generation any time they can.

There will be no restriction on any applicant by reason of race, age, creed, color, sex or national origin. The only limitations are as follows:

  • Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents
  • Scholarships must be utilized at institutions of higher learning within the State of Illinois
  • Students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2020-2021 school year (excluding summer session).

Applications are now available at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office or on the ISA Website www.ilsheriff.org. Students must complete the application; answer the essay question and return all documentation to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office by March 15, 2020 (must be postmarked by this date). For more information, please contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois Sheriffs’ Association, high school advising center or college financial aid office.
