MARION COUNTY — A 35-year-old Centralia man who was injured when struck by a train in October was arrested Monday on charges that included criminal trespass to railroad property.

Joshua Fleming was formally charged Tuesday in Marion County Court with possession of a controlled substance in connection with narcotic pills allegedly in his possession when he was taken into custody Monday night.

Fleming did not appear in court Tuesday due to allegedly being combative at the jail and still under the influence.

Centralia police arrested Fleming Friday when responding to a call of a disturbance in the 100 block of West Calumet.

He had reportedly been struck in October while walking his dog across the tracks near 13the and Walnut in Centralia.

He was thrown approximately 60 feet from the tracks and was in critical condition when transferred to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment.

He’s scheduled to make an appearance in court Wednesday.
