CENTRALIA, IL — Bail has been set at $5,000 for a 31-year-old Centralia man arrested Monday after he was allegedly caught in the process of a burglary.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Steven Myers after an employee of a farm in the 1000 block of Copple Road reportedly found him inside one of the farm trucks in a shed around 8:30 Monday morning.

Reportedly Myers attempted to run but was stopped and held by the employee until deputies arrived.

According to reports, Myers is also suspected of entering several other sheds earlier and of removing screen doors from the farm property but apparently he did not gain entry.

While Myers wasn’t found in possession of any stolen property, he was allegedly found in possession of less than five grams of meth.

He has been formally charged in Marion County Court with Class 2 felony burglary and Class 3 felony possession of meth.
