OKAWVILLE, IL — A 56-year-old rural Okawville woman died early Thursday morning in a fire that destroyed her home.

According to Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger, the body of Lynnette Cary of the 16-thousand block Covington Road was found inside her home after Addieville and Okawville firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Cary was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports indicate several dogs were also killed in the fire.

An autopsy was scheduled to be conducted in O’Fallon to help determine the cause and manner of Styninger’s death.
