MT. VERNON — The Mt. Vernon City Manager will seek approval from the city council to send the new post office building out for bids at tonight’s city council meeting.
Last year, the city reached an agreement with Milano Metals and Recycling to redevelop the old Park Plaza building which the current post office resides. The land will be turned into a trans-loading rail facility. The new post office will be built at the corner of 10th and Jordan in downtown Mt. Vernon.
In addition to the post office, the council will take a look at flooring quotes for the Engineering and Inspections department and also discuss a resolution to amend the Economic Development Agreement with Meyer Oil Company.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. tonight at the Rolland Lewis Building at Veterans Park in Mt. Vernon.
