SALEM, IL — The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating multiple vehicle burglaries reported over the weekend.

Six vehicle burglaries that apparently occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning on Fairview Drive or Radio Tower Road east of Salem are being investigated.

A resident on Fairview Drive told deputies a gun was stolen from his vehicle.

Other vehicle owners, including nearly a dozen at the American Legion, reported their vehicles were entered and gone through but nothing was taken.

Deputies are also investigating a Saturday incident where a vehicle on Kell Road in Texico was entered and a firearm and three magazines were taken.
