WOODLAWN, IL — An early Saturday morning fire destroyed a home just outside of Woodlawn.

According to the Woodlawn Fire Protection District, they responded shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday to Irvington Fire Protection District for a two-story residential structure fire northwest of Woodlawn.

Upon their arrival, firefighters from both protection districts found the home was heavily involved with flames throughout the structure. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

Ashley, Jefferson, and Waltonville fire protection districts all responded with tankers for water support.

No one was at the residence at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported. Litton Ambulance stood by.

The cause of the fire is still currently under investigation, the house is considered a total loss.
