MCLEANSBORO — The Hamilton County Board has tabled an ordinance that would ban the sale of recreational cannabis in unincorporated areas of the county.

Hamilton County Board Chairman Brad Miller says the state has pushed the deadline back for enacted such an ordinance, and the board wants to take more time seeing what the state will do.

Also at Tuesday night’s meeting, the board passed an ordinance to transfer $100,000 from the general fund to purchase new election equipment before next year’s elections.
