CARRIER MILLS — The last monthly electronic recycling of the year in Carrier Mills happens Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the trailer is full, at the Carrier Mills Municipal Building parking lot on North Mill Street.
Any that can be plugged in is required to be recycled. You can no longer throw electronics away or take them to a landfill.
You can recycle console TVs and big screen TVs for $10. Small screen TVs, computer monitors, and small flat screens will cost $5 to be recycled. All TVs and monitors will cost $10 to be recycled starting in January. So, get rid of the used or not working TVs now before the prices go up.
Due to recycling costs, the following items are no longer accepted for free: vacuums, microwaves, printers, DVRs, VCRs and copiers now cost $1 to be recycled.
This event is not limited to Carrier Mills residents. Anyone from the area may bring electronics to be disposed of properly. Tires and paint are no longer accepted.
