Senate Says OK Proposal To Stop Rolling Clocks Back and Forth

ILLINOIS (RFD) — Will rolling the clocks back be a thing of the past? The Illinois Senate voted 44-2 (2 abstained), to stop moving clocks back and forth for Daylight Saving Time.

The vote would keep the state on permanent Daylight Saving Time. Republican Senator Dave Syverson says he’s all for a change but being from Rockford, keeping time in border towns could be difficult.

The House still needs to approve the bill and the Governor would have to sign it. It would take a change in federal law for the state to skip out on changing the clocks altogether.

The only two states that don’t change time are Arizona and Hawaii.
