BENTON, IL — A Benton man was arrested for enhanced domestic battery after Benton Police were sent Sunday afternoon to the 1400 block of Vale Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Police say 51-year-old Stephen Adams was charged and taken to the Franklin County Jail.

A Carmi resident was arrested for driving under the influence after Benton Police conducted a traffic stop while on routine patrol early Saturday morning in the 1600 block of North Main Street.  Police say 27-year-old Madison Helsel was charged and taken to the Franklin County Jail.

An Oakville, Illinois man was arrested for battery after Benton Police were sent to the 1100 block of South Lickliter Street last Friday afternoon in reference to a domestic disturbance. Police say 41-year-old Gary Apel was charged and taken to the Franklin County Jail.
