FAYETTE COUNTY — Bail has been set at $1 million for a 33-year-old Herrick man accused of shooting another man last week.

Trevor McCammack remains in the Fayette County Jail on Class X felony charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm, as well as Class 1 felony aggravated discharge of a firearm.

McCammack was arrested on September 23 after a man went to a rural residence saying he had been shot. The man suffered four gunshot wounds allegedly inflicted by McCammack.

Law enforcement searched for McCammack for hours in an area north of a Shobonier gaming bar. A police K-9 ultimately located and apprehended McCammack in a cornfield north of the bar.

McCammack is next scheduled to appear in court on October 29 for a preliminary hearing and first appearance with his court-appointed attorney.
