CARMI, IL — Carmi Police arrested a Carmi man wanted to two warrants after receiving a report of a woman screaming for help at 310 Shipley Street around 10:20 Thursday morning.
Police say after receiving the report, an officer spotted 37-year-old Dustin L. Acord on a bike a block away. The officer knew Acord was wanted and that he lived at 310 Shipley Street.
The officer followed Acord and told him to stop, which he refused. Acord returned to the trailer and told the officer he was not going to jail. After the officer pointed a taser at Acord, Acord punched a washing machine which was sitting in the yard and then surrendered without incident.
Acord was held on two failure to appear warrants on charges of criminal trespass and domestic battery.
Acord was taken to the White County Jail. Bond was set at $1,000 cash.
