PERRY COUNTY — The Nashville High School superintendent was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly left the scene of a crash where police say he sideswiped another vehicle.

Bradley R. Turner, of Nashville, has been formally charged in Perry County court with improper lane usage, having an expired driver’s license, improper use of electronic communication device, and leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage.

According to a crash report from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu on Illinois 154 at about 2:48 a.m. Sunday when a 2016 Nissan Altima driven by the 42-year-old Turner veered into her car. The report says turner was traveling west and was distracted because he was using his cell phone.

The impact of Turner’s vehicle caused the woman to lose control of her car that subsequently spun around and into a ditch.

Turner allegedly fled the scene, but was later located and arrested. He’s due to appear in court November 11.
