MCLEANSBORO — The McLeansboro City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday afternoon at 4:15 at City Hall.

According to the agenda, the council will discuss and/or take action to enter into a contract with the Rend Lake Conservancy District for the purchase of municipal water until Dec. 31, 2059.

The council is also expected to discuss and/or take action on a resolution authorizing and providing for the incurrence of indebtedness for the purpose of providing a portion of the cost of acquiring, constructing, enlarging, improving and/or extending its water system facility to serve an area lawfully within its jurisdiction to serve.

The council will discuss and/or take action to confirm the appointment of a new City Treasurer.

The meeting is open to the public.
