CENTRALIA — Centralia police are investigating a shooting incident Monday night that resulted in a passing vehicle being struck by bullets on East Kerr.

According to police, no one was injured in the incident that was reported around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Reports indicate a group of subjects in a car and on foot in the 500 to 600 blocks of East Kerr fired shots at a passing vehicle. The gunfire blew out the rear window of the passing vehicle and also struck another vehicle parked in the area.

The passing vehicle that was struck is reportedly owned by the Morning family that has been involved in an ongoing dispute with another group.

The dispute also reportedly involved the beating last month of a 15-year-old boy on a Centralia street by members of the Morning family. The beating reportedly resulted in permanent disabilities to the teen who has been described as a member of the Rude Boys street gang.

The gang is believed responsible for a previous shots fired incident aimed at the Morning home on East Haussler Street.

Potential witnesses to Monday night’s incident were not cooperating with law enforcement.  Anyone with information is urged to contact the Centralia Police Department at 533-7602.
