MCLEANSBORO — The Hamilton County Board voted to sign agreements with Clear Wave and the Illinois Century Network at Tuesday night’s meeting. The agreement is a part of strengthening security in local elections after breaches were found in the Illinois State election system the last election cycle.

Board member Chad May led the work on the agreement. He says the motion passed tonight allows the county to connect to the state level for the funded security.

The agreement is for five years. The circuit that will be provided could also allow the county to have full LEADS access and provide backup internet for the courthouse in the future.
