CENTRALIA — The Centralia Police Department is taking applications for a patrol officer.

Centralia Police Chief Brian Atchison

According to Police Chief Brian Atchison, the department is looking for a candidate who has either a high school diploma or GED, can pass an extensive background check and has a desire to be a police officer.

Anyone interested can either download an application packet online at city of centralia.org, or go to City Hall during regular business hours and request a packet. Deadline to return the application packet to City hall is 4 p.m. September 9.

Atchison says the job pays well and has good benefits. He says anyone with questions about becoming a police officer can talk to any Centralia Police officer about working for CPD.

He says it’s more than just a job, that the people who work for the department are family.
