MT. VERNON — Mt. Vernon Township High School will welcome students back to school on August 15th, and the district has added a new Dean of Students for this school year that will help the district identify and bring truant students back to school.

MVTHS Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch says there are many different social and emotional issues that teens deal with today, and the district has the resources to help those students through those issues.

Fritchtnitch says school funding reform dollars have been essential in being able to make sure MVTHS can bring all the services needed to care for all aspects of a student’s overall health.

You can hear the full interview with MVTHS Superintendent Fritchtnitch on the Southern Illinois Insider this Sunday at 11 a.m. on AM 940, 96.5 FM and on 94.1 FM, WMIX.
