WILLIAMSON COUNTY — A Williamson County judge found a Pittsburg man guilty of two counts of criminal sexual assault – both Class 1 felonies – Wednesday.
Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says 39-year-old Brad Trent was charged in 2016 following an Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and law enforcement investigation which indicated that in 2015, Trent committed two acts of sexual assault against a female under the age of 18 and above the age of 13.
A bench trial was held Wednesday with the judge rendering his verdict following the close of evidence.
Trent will be sentenced at a later date. The offenses carry with them mandatory, consecutive prison sentences. Trent will face between 8 and 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. He will have to register as a sex offender following his release.
