MT. VERNON — The 2019 Mt. Vernon Market Days season continues to grow in both vendors and customers. Vendors from all over Southern Illinois and surrounding states have joined Market Days at Veteran’s Park the first Saturday of each month this season.

The next opportunity to shop is Saturday, August 3rd from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. Grace Payne, Marketing Executive for the Mt. Vernon Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, says for the month of August only, all vendors will be located outside.

Drive thru pick-up will also be available on the south end of the parking lot this year. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $8 from any 4-H member or $9 at the door. The meal includes BBQ sandwich, salad, chips, fruit, dessert, and a drink. Market Days during August will include free inflatable fun for children from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Payne says during this time of year, it’s a great opportunity for families to stock up on affordable produce before the school year begins.

Extra parking will be available in the grass across from the main parking lot to accommodate the additional number of visitors to Veteran’s Park August 3rd. Free golf cart shuttle rides will be running from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. to transport customers with their purchases. For more information contact the Mt.
