MT. VERNON — The Heartland Young Marines program is holding their annual fundraiser car wash on Saturday, August 10th. The car wash will be at the American Legion at 816 Main Street in Mt. Vernon starting around 10 a.m. that day.
Eddie Vaughn is the unit commander for the Heartland Young Marines. He says this fundraiser is one of the organization’s big local events each year.
The Young Marines program is a program for kids 8 through high school graduation that teaches young people important leadership skills, community service, and other marine core values. For more information on the car wash or the organization, you can email heartlandyoungmarines@gmail.com.
