CARMI — A Carmi woman was arrested for aggravated domestic battery following an incident that happened at 410 Cora St. in Carmi around 10:30 Friday night.

According to a Carmi Police report, 52-year-old Minnie Anderson was intoxicated and choked her father, 71-year-old Jewel M. Appleton of Carmi.

Police also knew that Anderson had an active White County warrant for failure to appear for driving while license revoked. She was additionally charged with the warrant in addition to aggravated domestic battery.

Anderson was taken to the White County Jail. Her bail was set at $500. Court records show she is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. in White County Court.
